Trump: I will not make a peace agreement; it must be done by Ukraine and Russia

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that making a peace agreement to end Russia's war against Ukraine is not his business, according to the American leader's press conference.
Trump threatened that he might walk away from the negotiations regarding Ukraine, and then "that will be the end." In that case, the war would not be resolved.
The president stated that he believes the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, wants to take all of Ukraine. However, Trump wants to hold a meeting to discuss the terms of a settlement. After that, he promised to call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders.
"It is not up to me to make a deal. I think a deal should be made for both (Russia and Ukraine – ed.). I think Russia has to get back to building their country. It's a massive country, I think they have 11 time zones. They have greatest potential in Russia to do well, and the economy's not doing well," he added.
Meeting between Trump and Putin
Amid the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, rumors have appeared in the media that the two countries are preparing an operation to freeze Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly emphasized that there will be no success if Washington and Moscow reach an agreement without Kyiv.
At the same time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, during today’s conversation with Zelenskyy, expressed support for the idea that negotiations to end the war must take place with Ukraine’s participation.
