As of now, it is unclear what exactly "Donald Trump's plan for Ukraine" means. Neither Trump himself nor anyone from his current team has approached Kyiv with concrete peace proposals, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing sources within Ukraine's top military and political leadership.

The leaks of various "peace plans" and concepts in the media appear to be elements of internal power struggles within Trump's circle, which began well before the election.

Furthermore, the provocative social media posts on Ukraine by figures like Elon Musk or Donald Trump Jr. are part of this broader contest for the new president's attention.

For now, Trump is more focused on domestic political issues, which have always been his priority. However, his attention will likely turn to Ukraine soon. A more substantive call with the Kremlin could follow, and the Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President, Andriy Yermak, is expected to visit the US soon.

"It's crucial for us to get to Trump before the Russians and push our perspective," a source close to President Zelenskyy told RBC-Ukraine.

Trump's plans

Earlier, newly elected US President Donald Trump made skeptical statements about supporting Ukraine during his campaign. He also claimed that he could end the war with a single phone call. However, Trump did not reveal the details of his plan.

Western media published versions of Trump's so-called peace plan. For example, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, wrote that according to the plan, Ukraine would allegedly promise not to join NATO for 20 years while the US would continue to provide weapons. However, Ukraine must also give up 20% of its territory.

The Telegraph wrote that Trump might call on European and British forces to establish a 1,200-km buffer zone between Ukrainian and Russian troops.
