US President Donald Trump gave an ambiguous response to a question about Russian strikes on peaceful areas of Ukraine, which are causing civilian casualties, according to the broadcast of the American leader’s meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
A journalist asked Trump whether he had discussed last week with the Russian President Vladimir Putin his strikes on peaceful areas of Ukraine and whether he had demanded that such attacks be stopped.
"I did. But as you know, most of the people dying are soldiers. The soldiers that are dying in Russia and Ukraine, it's unbelievable," he replied.
The president added that "about 5 to 7 thousand soldiers" die each week.
"In addition to that, there are attacks on Kiev and some of the other places. And it's human lives, but the big number of human lives of soldiers that are being killed in the battlefield," Trump said.
Russian attacks on peaceful Ukrainians
Russian forces strike civilians in Ukraine almost daily, using drones, missiles, guided aerial bombs, and more.
The settlements closest to the front line suffer the most from such attacks.
In particular, today, October 20, the Russian army launched a massive strike on the Pavlohrad district, using missiles and drones.
As of now, it is known that 16 people were affected by the attack, 15 of whom were taken to hospitals.
On October 18, Russia attacked Lozova in the Kharkiv region. The strike destroyed a residential building and injured six people. Additionally, 11 private houses were damaged.
