Trump furious over Europe’s support for Zelenskyy after White House dispute – Politico

US President Donald Trump was reportedly furious over European leaders' public support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a dispute at the White House - a reaction that became one of the factors influencing his decision to halt aid to Ukraine, Politico reports.
After his visit to the US, President Zelenskyy met with King Charles III. According to American officials, Trump was enraged not only by Zelenskyy’s meeting with the British monarch but also by Europe’s reaction to the Ukrainian leader.
A British official told Politico that Trump’s team "didn’t like the look of it … the way the whole love-in landed," which, according to them, may have prompted the British side to take a tougher stance toward Kyiv, including pressuring Ukraine to engage in talks with Washington in the coming days.
The dispute between Zelenskyy and Trump
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United States for an official visit, where he met with President Donald Trump.
However, during a press conference, a dispute took place between Zelenskyy and Trump regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy reminded that the war in Ukraine had not ended under the presidencies of Barack Obama, Donald Trump, or Joe Biden, which sparked a sharp response from US Vice President J.D. Vance, followed by Trump himself.
As a result of the confrontation, Zelenskyy left the White House earlier than planned. Moreover, Ukraine and the United States did not sign a minerals deal, as previously planned.
