Trump fired six National Security Council officials after meeting with activist Laura Loomer

US President Donald Trump fired six National Security Council (NSC) officials after an Oval Office meeting with far-right activist Laura Loomer, reports The New York Times.
The meeting with Loomer took place on Wednesday and lasted about 30 minutes.
During the meeting, the activist presented the president with documents containing accusations against NSC officials, claiming they were disloyal to the head of state. Also present at the meeting were National Security Adviser Michael Waltz and Vice President JD Vance.
Loomer took a tough stance and harshly criticized several NSC representatives. Among those targeted was Deputy National Security Adviser Alex Wong, who managed to avoid being fired.
However, six other employees were dismissed from their positions, and several NSC representatives returned to their agencies even before the meeting.
Disagreements within Trump's team
Laura Loomer is known as a far-right activist, whom even some of Trump’s allies consider radical. She actively opposes White House staff whom she considers too militant and contradictory to the "America First" policy.
Also present at the meeting was Congressman Scott Perry, one of Trump’s most loyal supporters. He planned to discuss team issues with the president, but his meeting coincided with Loomer's visit. Perry also had his own concerns regarding the work of the National Security Council.
Trump's position
President Trump is in no hurry to dismiss Waltz himself, despite the adviser’s involvement in controversial situations. According to The New York Times, Trump seeks to avoid negative media reactions and does not want a repeat of frequent dismissals, as was the case during his first term.
The decision to fire the officials has sparked mixed reactions within the government, as many of them had passed the personnel vetting process conducted by the Trump administration.
