US President Donald Trump held talks with several European leaders over the weekend, discussing the end of Russia's war against Ukraine, according to Trump's statement during a conversation with journalists.

"We are going to make deals with everybody to end this war, including Europe and European nations," he said in response to a question about whether he would lift sanctions on Russia if a peace agreement is reached.

According to Trump, in the past two days, he has received calls from four prime ministers and five presidents, all seeking a solution to end the war.

"Most of them are friends of mine, heads of states, heads of various countries," the US president added.

However, Trump did not specify with whom he had held talks.

Ending war in Ukraine

The US has already begun talks with Russia, which included discussions on ending Russia's war against Ukraine. The first round of such talks took place in Saudi Arabia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that these negotiations were held without the participation of Ukrainian officials, so he does not recognize their results.

Recently, tensions have arisen between Zelenskyy and Trump. The two leaders had a falling out last week, after which Trump repeatedly claimed that Zelenskyy allegedly does not want the war with Russia to end.
