Trump delivers tough warning to Iran over Strait of Hormuz

The US military will respond accordingly to Iranian attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, as the conflict escalates and intensifies, President Donald Trump said on X.
Trump warns Iran
Trump said the United States would target Iran's energy and transportation infrastructure in response to the attacks.
"From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by missile, rocket, drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy one bridge or power plant," Trump wrote.
According to the president, the strikes would also include facilities located near or inside the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Trump's previous warnings to Iran
Earlier, Trump had issued very similar threats targeting Iranian bridges and power plants. All of these statements came in response to Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz, Clash Reports notes.
- March 2026: Trump gave Iran 48 hours to reopen the strait, warning that otherwise the US would destroy a power plant, starting with the largest one.
- Early April: "Bridges next, then electric power plants!" Trump said after the B1 bridge in Karaj had already been hit.
- April 5: "Open the f**kin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell. JUST WATCH!"
- April 6–7: Trump threatened the complete demolition of every bridge and power plant in a single night, adding that "a whole civilization will die tonight."
Earlier, US allies in the Middle East expressed frustration over the escalation of military operations against Iran.
The US war against Iran has already cost the country tens of billions of dollars. During the fighting, 18 American service members have been killed and hundreds more wounded.
