Trump considers additional sanctions against Russia

The United States is considering additional sanctions against Russia. But Washington does not disclose under what conditions they may be imposed, according to US President Donald Trump.
"We are always considering secondary sanctions on Russia," the American leader said.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has initiated a bill that provides for crippling sanctions against Russia if it delays the process of resolving the war in Ukraine.
Graham's bill would impose a 500% tariff on imports from countries that continue to buy Russian energy carriers, such as oil, gas, petroleum products, and uranium.
EU sanctions against Moscow
The ambassadors of the European Union approved the 17th package of sanctions against Russia. This happened on the eve of a possible meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin in Türkiye.
The new package targets almost 200 oil tankers of the Russian shadow fleet. It also includes bans on the export of chemicals used for weapons production and trade restrictions for dozens of companies involved in sanctions circumvention.
Earlier, France and Germany warned Russia of tougher sanctions if Putin does not agree to a ceasefire. The French Foreign Minister announced a meeting with US Senator Graham to discuss crippling sanctions that could grab Russia by the throat.
