Trump confirms Zelenskyy's visit to US on February 28

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to visit the United States on Friday, February 28. His visit has been confirmed, stated US President Donald Trump during a meeting with government members at the White House.
"President Zelenskyy is going to be coming on Friday, that is now confirmed," Trump said.
According to the American leader, the United States and Ukraine are set to sign an agreement on rare earth minerals and other resources. Trump emphasized that this "will be a very big agreement".
Trump also added that American taxpayers "should not be footing the bills" for the funds allocated to aid Ukraine.
"Most importantly by far, we're going to make a deal with Russia and Ukraine to stop killing people," he added.
Rumors about Zelenskyy’s visit to the US
Earlier, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that Ukraine and the US had agreed on the details of a minerals deal. Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump are expected to sign the agreement.
An unnamed Ukrainian official also told AFP that the deal could be signed in Washington on Friday, February 28.
Zelenskyy himself confirmed on February 26 that the US had already proposed a visit, and teams are working on the details.
He stated that he really wants the visit but emphasized that it’s important for Ukraine to hear from the US that military aid will not be halted.
Zelenskyy also clarified that after his possible trip to Washington, he plans to visit London immediately and meet with European leaders there.
