US President Donald Trump will visit China in "not-too-distant future." However, it is still unknown whether he will meet there with the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the American leader said this during a meeting with Philippine President Bongbong Marcos.

"President Xi (China’s leader Xi Jinping — ed.) has invited me to China, and we'll probably be doing that in the not-too-distant future," Trump said.

He also commented on the possibility of meeting with Putin in China.

"We have a lot of meetings possible," he said without providing details.

The American leader clarified that a decision about the trip to China will be made soon.

Rumors about a Trump-Putin meeting

Earlier, The Times reported that China’s leader Xi Jinping wants to invite US President Donald Trump to the parade in Beijing commemorating the end of World War II, which will take place in September. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also expected to attend the parade.

According to the outlet, the Chinese leader may arrange a trilateral meeting with Trump and Putin.

The Kremlin also stated that Putin may meet with Trump if he travels to China.

Meanwhile, Valerii Klochok, head of the Vezha Public Analytics Center and chairman of the Nova Doroga charitable foundation, told RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel that there are currently no conditions for a meeting between Trump and Putin.
