US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine has not assisted in the situation with Iran, according to Stephanie Ruhle, host of The 11th Hour on MSNBC.
According to Ruhle, during an interview, she asked the US leader about support and assistance from Ukraine in the context of the Middle East conflict.
"He said they've done nothing. Anything Zelenskyy has said as far as what Ukraine has done to help us, he’s just doing for political and PR purposes. They've done nothing," the journalist quoted Trump as saying.
Support for Middle Eastern countries
On March 10, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian experts had been sent to Middle Eastern countries, where they would assist in destroying Iranian Shahed drones.
By March 17, the Ukrainian President said that 201 Ukrainian military experts were already in the region. They are working in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, while another team was sent to Kuwait.
An unnamed Ukrainian officer told The Times he was shocked by how the United States intercepts Shahed drones.
He said that in one case, US forces used an SM-6 missile from a warship, costing about $6 million, to destroy an Iranian kamikaze drone. This is disproportionately expensive, given that a Shahed drone costs around $70,000.
Despite this, US President Donald Trump recently stated that he does not need Ukraine’s assistance in destroying Iranian drones. He also boasted that American drones are the best in the world.
