US President Donald Trump forced Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to answer whether Ukraine could win the war against the Russian regime, the conversation between Trump and Orbán took place during their meeting at the White House.

Specifically, Trump asked Orbán whether Ukraine could win the war against Russia. Orbán, who had repeatedly claimed that Ukraine would lose, this time had to give the US president a completely different answer.

After Trump’s ironic question, "So you would say that Ukraine cannot win that war?" Orbán replied, "You know, miracle can happen." To which Trump, slightly mocking the Hungarian prime minister, added, "Yeah, that's right."

At the same time, Trump once again made a statement about Ukraine, claiming that the war was allegedly started by the 46th US president, Joseph Biden, who supposedly "insisted" on it. He also added that the war has brought nothing good to either Ukraine or Russia.

"Biden actually pushed for that war to happen. Nobody can believe it. Look what's happened to Ukraine — It's a much smaller country. A lot of people are dead. And Russia has not been helped very much by that war either," the US president said.

Orbán himself is extremely anti-Ukrainian, is considered a supporter of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, and constantly emphasizes that Ukraine will allegedly eventually lose the war against the Russian forces.

Recently, Orbán caused a scandal on social media when he attacked pro-Ukrainian Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Among other criticisms of the Polish politician, Orbán claimed that Ukraine would supposedly lose the war despite all of Poland’s efforts to support Kyiv.

Orbán's visit to the US

Orbán is visiting the US to try to secure a "sanctions exemption" for Hungary. On October 22, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on Russian oil giants Lukoil and Rosneft, significantly complicating the export of Russian oil to other countries, including Hungary.

Since then, Orbán has been trying to obtain an exemption. On October 31, Trump said that Orbán had requested sanctions exemptions for Hungary, but he refused. However, Trump has now changed his position, saying that the US is considering the possibility of exemptions so Hungary could continue importing Russian oil.

Still, little depends on Trump here: the real ability to control oil supplies to Hungary lies with Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already stated that Kyiv will not allow Russia to supply oil to Europe and will stop these supplies by any means necessary.
