Trump announces timeline for meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping could take place in about a month, according to the President’s post on Truth Social.
US President Donald Trump said that American soybean farmers are suffering because China has stopped purchasing soybeans for what he described as "negotiating reasons." He promised to assist farmers by allocating a small portion of the tariff revenues collected by the government.
The president assured that he would "never let American farmers down," adding that "sleepy Joe Biden didn’t enforce our Agreement with China, where they were going to purchase Billions of Dollars of our Farm Product, but Soybeans, in particular."
Trump emphasized that the situation would be resolved positively, stating:
"I LOVE OUR PATRIOTS, AND EVERY FARMER IS EXACTLY THAT! I’ll be meeting with President Xi, of China, in four weeks, and Soybeans will be a major topic of discussion. MAKE SOYBEANS, AND OTHER ROW CROPS, GREAT AGAIN!"
US-China’s uneasy relations
Despite claiming a "neutral position" on the war in Ukraine, China continues to cooperate with Russia, supplying dual-use goods that can be used in weapons production.
Trump’s special envoy, Keith Kellogg, said that if China stopped assisting Russia, the war could end within a day, describing Russia as the junior partner in the relationship.
In response, Beijing defended its cooperation with the Kremlin as legitimate and advised other countries not to interfere.
On September 19, Trump and Xi Jinping held a phone conversation, during which they discussed prospects for signing a new trade agreement between the two countries.
Following the call, the US and China reportedly reached a preliminary deal on the operation of the TikTok social media platform in the United States.
Meanwhile, media reports suggested that Xi has been pressuring Trump to make a public statement opposing Taiwan’s independence.
