US President Donald Trump said on February 10 that he would speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy this week. He also confirmed that his special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, would soon visit Kyiv, Radio Free Europe reports.

The agency notes that Trump did not specify when exactly Kellogg will visit Ukraine. CNN previously wrote that the special representative's visit will take place next week, and AFP, citing a source close to the Ukrainian President, reported that it will take place on February 20.

In addition, Zelenskyy's press secretary, Serhii Nikiforov, recently announced that Kellogg is expected to meet with the Ukrainian president at the Munich Security Conference, which starts on February 14, and on the sidelines of the conference, the Ukrainian leader will meet with US Vice President J.D. Vance.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are also planning to come to Munich.

"We will deliver our expectation to the allies. When we come back from Munich we want to deliver to the president the options, so when he does get (directly) involved in the peace process, he knows what it will look like for him," Kellogg says in an interview with the AP.

Kellogg says the White House is finalizing details of the talks that will give Trump's top aides their first serious opportunity to convey the new administration's approach to the war to the public.

"Knowing how the process works, it would probably be better for Zelenskyy if we all met together and talked through it as a group," Trump's special envoy says.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the main issue for everyone at the Munich Security Conference will be the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine.

The Munich Security Conference will run from February 14 to 16. It is expected to be attended by about 60 countries, 150 ministers from around the world, as well as heads of international organizations.
