Trump accuses Obama of attempted 'coup,' Obama responds

US President Donald Trump accused his predecessor Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of "manufacturing" evidence of Russian interference.in the 2016 election, according to The Guardian.
Trump accused Obama and Clinton of attempting a "coup" and demanded that they be held accountable.
He said that the US Department of Justice would have to take action and that the decision would be made by their attorney general.
Former US President Barack Obama broke his silence, calling Trump's call "outrageous." According to him, the Republican was trying a "weak attempt at distraction."
"Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response," the statement said. "But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction."
What preceded this
A few days ago, on July 20, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced the upcoming release of documents allegedly containing evidence of a conspiracy among officials under Barack Obama’s leadership.
It was claimed that his administration at the time had disseminated false information about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump is suing media
Earlier, US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal. The reason was a publication about his alleged birthday greeting to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein over 20 years ago.
According to WSJ, in 2003, Ghislaine Maxwell collected letters for Epstein’s birthday album. The letter with Trump’s name was reportedly inappropriate, consisting of a few lines of typed text framed by the outline of a naked woman.
The American president accused the newspaper of "egregious violations of journalistic ethics and standards of accuracy."
