'Tricolor and closed EU doors': Ukraine condemns Georgia for using war footage in campaign ads

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the latest unfriendly actions by Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country’s authorities continue to use footage showing the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine for their own political PR.
"Such cynical actions demonstrate disrespect towards the Ukrainian people and the victims of the Russian aggression, causing just indignation among Ukrainian society," the ministry noted.
The MFA stressed that it is regrettable to see the Georgian authorities "crawl before Moscow and disregard the principles of dignity and independence" that have historically been inherent to the Georgian nation.
Ukrainian diplomats advised Georgian Dream’s political strategists to show an accurate picture of the situation — with the Russian tricolor on the right and the closed doors of the EU and NATO on the left.
According to them, the current Georgian authorities have deprived the country not of war, but of its European future.
At the same time, Ukraine emphasized its unwavering support for the people of Georgia in their aspiration to build an independent, democratic, and European state.
Background
Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream, once again used footage of destroyed Ukrainian cities in its election campaign ads. The video features black-and-white images of frontline settlements, including cities and buildings damaged during hostilities.
Among the footage are cemeteries with graves of Ukrainian soldiers, destroyed bridges, and drone strikes on buildings. The video also includes a photo of a couple standing near the ruins of a high-rise building in Kyiv, where their son was killed.
