The Defense Intelligence (HUR) of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense carried out a sabotage operation on the Trans-Siberian Railway. It had been used, in particular, to deliver weapons from North Korea to Russia, according to HUR on Telegram.

As the military intelligence noted, the explosion on the Trans-Siberian Railway occurred on 13 November near the settlement of Sosnovka in Russia’s Khabarovsk region. As a result, freight traffic along the Trans-Siberian Railway was blocked.

The HUR explained that the Trans-Siberian Railway is a key rail artery of Russia, used to transport weapons and ammunition, including from North Korea.

"As a result of the special operation by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, a freight train derailed and the railway track was damaged," the intelligence service specified.

They added that the Kremlin’s special services are unable to ensure effective control even over some of the most critical infrastructure facilities for the Russian army.

HUR operations on Russian territory

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense regularly carries out operations on Russian territory.

In particular, Ukrainian intelligence operatives recently destroyed three lines of the strategic Koltsevaya oil pipeline in the Moscow region. This is an important facility for the Russian forces.

Also in October, as a result of a Defense Intelligence operation in Russia’s Stavropol, three soldiers from the 247th Caucasian Cossack Airborne Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces were eliminated.

The operation took place in the city center — right next to the checkpoint of military unit No. 54801.

Members of this regiment are suspected of committing war crimes against Ukrainians.
