The United States will not abandon its European allies if Russia launches an invasion of the Baltic states. NATO members are already actively preparing to repel any potential Russian attack, Chris Donahue, commander of US Army Europe and Africa, and commander of NATO's land forces in Europe, stated.

A new NATO command headquarters for the Baltic states was unveiled in Estonia a day earlier.

Against that backdrop, Donahue sought to reassure America's allies. He stressed that US troops are ready to fight shoulder to shoulder with European forces if Russia launches a war.

"You're ready to do more and following words with action, and the United States will be there alongside you. That is how deterrence is built: Not with words from a podium, but with boots in the mud," Donahue said.

His remarks contrast with recent comments by US President Donald Trump, who warned that Europe could be left to face the Russian military alone in the event of an invasion.

Despite that, NATO continues preparing for various scenarios. The Alliance has established a second command zone covering the Baltic states and Poland.

The move allows NATO to deploy even more troops closer to Russia's borders.

"It is a visible and strong demonstration of NATO's unity, readiness, and of our collective determination to defend every inch of Allied territory," German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that a bipartisan bill introduced in the US Senate aims to significantly speed up deliveries of much-needed ammunition to Ukraine.

NATO is also prepared to allocate substantial defense funding to Ukraine even without US participation.

Meanwhile, Turkey has once again joined discussions on Russia's war against Ukraine, with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan putting forward a new proposal.
