Top EU diplomat explains how Russia trying to stop support for Ukraine

Russia is trying to spread fear among citizens of European Union countries in order to undermine their support for Ukraine, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated in a comment to Suspilne.
She emphasized that rising tensions could spread fear among Europeans.
Kallas noted that if the situation became too serious, their citizens might start asking why they were helping Ukraine if they needed their own air defense.
She also said that European countries are trying to put pressure on Russia, and work is underway on the 19th sanctions package.
The diplomat underlined that the 19th sanctions package was being worked on, which is already very close to completion, and is aimed at Russia’s energy sector and financing, in order to deprive it of the resources to wage the war and carry out attacks.
Kallas added that at the same time, work continues on a winter aid package for Ukraine, which will help restore infrastructure and get through the cold season.
The European Union has decided to allocate 10 million euros for the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine. In addition, funds have been allocated to support Ukraine during the winter.
In particular, the EU has already provided 800 million euros to support Ukraine this winter. The European Union is also working on an additional 100 million euros for backup generators and has allocated 2 billion euros for drones.
Another 6 million euros are being allocated to support affected children abducted by the aggressor state so they can receive necessary assistance and care.
