Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on US President Joe Biden and Republican leader Donald Trump to visit Ukraine and witness the tragedy of war with their own eyes, according to FOX News.

"I'm happy to see all the candidates and all the people who are decision-makers or can support not to be against just to understand what the war in Ukraine means," said Zelenskyy in an exclusive interview with the channel.

The head of the state also noted that such a visit would help American politicians comprehend who initiated this war and what is happening around.

"What brilliant Ukraine we had. We have (a) beautiful country, but in the war it's another picture and other lives," adding that the candidates should "Come see people, just to see them on the streets."

Trump won't end the war

The President of Ukraine also commented on Trump's statement that he could end the war in 24 hours. Zelenskyy emphasized that Trump "can’t solve this problem, this tragedy with me." He pledged to welcome the former president at the front lines.

He said he would host the former President on the frontlines where he "will explain everything, and he will explain what his thoughts, maybe he has some ideas. I don’t know."

"He will see what’s going on, and after that, I think he will change his mind, and we all understand that there are no two sides to this war: There is only one enemy, and this is the position of Putin," Zelenskyy insisted.

Zelenskyy gave an interview to FOX News' Chief Political Anchor and Special Report Executive Editor Bret Baier just a few kilometers from the front line in the Kharkiv region.

The head of the state emphasized the importance of conducting the interview in such a dangerous location: "It’s very important for me, like I said before we started … the United States (needs) to see different war in the capital and here closer to (the) front line."

Peace initiatives by Trump

In March 2023, Donald Trump promised his supporters that he would "end Russia's war against Ukraine in 24 hours" if elected as President of the United States in the November 5 elections that year.

However, he noted that he would allow Russia to take control of parts of Ukrainian territory to "avoid war."

Recently, Trump stated that if re-elected as President of the United States, he would seek negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

Military assistance from Western countries

On Thursday, February 22, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a comprehensive meeting with diplomats, representatives of states, and international organizations. During the meeting, he outlined three tasks for 2024.

The head of the state also announced that this year Ukraine would strengthen its Air Force with the acquisition of F-16 fighters, considering it a fundamental task.

The President had a telephone conversation with Charles Michel, the President of the European Council. The leaders discussed military and financial assistance to Ukraine.
