Zelenskyy sets three key goals for 2024 in meeting with foreign envoys

"The 24th year is special because it is this year that we must do as much as possible in terms of our ability to end this war in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law. Accordingly, for this year, we have several very specific tasks," the president says.

During the meeting with ambassadors, three main issues were discussed.

Firstly, it is the protection of people in Ukraine from Russian terror. Zelenskyy has thanked partners who provide Ukraine with defense, macro-financial, and humanitarian support.

"I am especially grateful for long-term support programs – both defense and financial," Zelenskyy says.

Secondly, the president has reminded about the Peace Formula, which is capable of restoring the full force of international law violated by Russia. According to him, it is capable of bringing true, honest, and understandable peace to every nation. The issue of returning home to Ukraine children and adults deported to Russia, Ukrainian prisoners of war, and Ukrainian political hostages was also discussed.

And the third issue is joint cooperation of the world to prevent Russia from circumventing world sanctions.

"This year should add more strength and more principled steps to Ukraine, each of our states, and our cooperation. Ukraine invites all respected states and companies to defense cooperation. We must work together to prevent Russia from circumventing world sanctions. And another aspect is Russian assets. The sooner they are confiscated, the sooner Putin will feel the real price of aggression against international law," he emphasizes.
