This popular and delicious drink can help you sleep well
The doctor stated that the popular Christmas drink can indeed have some surprising health benefits. Specifically, it helps promote good sleep and prevents waking up during the night, reports Mirror.
Which drink will help you sleep well
Dr. Tim Mercer stated that turkey meat, rich in tryptophan, naturally helps relax and sleep, making it an excellent main dish for rest. However, that's not the only food worth eating - an ordinary drink can also help.
According to the expert, hot chocolate can promote sleep if you choose one with low-sugar or caffeine-free.
"Using milk as the base provides tryptophan, which promotes melatonin and serotonin production to support relaxation and sleep. Warm milk is also soothing and can signal to your body that it's time to wind down," he explained.

To keep it sleep-friendly, prepare your hot chocolate with pure cocoa powder, which contains much less caffeine compared to dark chocolate.
Sweeten it lightly with honey or a small amount of sugar, as too much sugar can cause a rapid spike in blood sugar levels, potentially disrupting sleep later.
Walnuts are also great for helping you fall asleep. The expert mentioned that almonds are a natural source of melatonin and magnesium, the latter of which improves sleep quality, especially for people with sleep issues. This makes almonds an excellent evening snack.
As for walnuts, this common snack contains tryptophan, which the body converts into melatonin, helping regulate your sleep-wake cycle. They also provide a healthy source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are believed to support brain health and may indirectly contribute to better sleep.
