US President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is afraid of the United States and its weapons, according to the Clash Report.
Trump emphasized that "NATO is us (the US)" and stated that the Russian President is afraid of the United States.
"He has no fear of Europe, whatsoever. He fears the United States of America and the military that was built by me in my first term," said the US president.
Trilateral peace talks
Since the beginning of this year, Ukraine, the US, and Russia have already held three rounds of peace talks. The fourth round was supposed to take place in early March but was postponed due to the start of a US and Israel operation against Iran.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the teams from Ukraine and the US are holding active consultations on sanctions policy and security guarantees. However, he emphasized that resolving key issues requires a meeting between the two presidents.
At the same time, Donald Trump continues to accuse the Ukrainian leader of allegedly not wanting peace. In an interview with NBC News, he claimed that Putin is supposedly ready for an agreement, while Zelenskyy allegedly does not want to conclude a peace deal.
Peace talks regarding Ukraine are currently in a "danger zone" due to the US shifting its focus to the Middle East conflict. This benefits Russia through higher oil prices, the suspension of sanctions, and the rapid depletion of American munitions needed by Kyiv.
Additionally, Moscow’s inadequate stance on the participation of European countries in the dialogue has become known. In particular, the Kremlin responded to this proposal with a profane reply.
Meanwhile, Ukraine and international experts remain skeptical of Russia’s actions, noting that Russian President Putin never intended genuine negotiations or a full stop to the war, using diplomacy only as a tool to avoid sanctions.
