There should be no restrictions on weapons for Ukraine - Estonia's President
In Russia's war against Ukraine, strikes on Russian territory cannot be avoided. There should be no restrictions on the weapons provided to Ukraine by its partners, according to Estonian President Alar Karis during a briefing with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"While providing our support, we cannot prevent targeting objects on the aggressor's territory to slow down the advance of Russian forces. Therefore, there should be no restrictions on the weapons supplied to Ukraine," he said.
The President of Estonia also emphasized that his country will continue to support Ukraine, particularly in military terms.
"Estonia will support Ukraine for as long as the war lasts. We have joined the initiative of the G7 countries to ensure bilateral assistance to Ukraine. We will also support Ukraine in the period from 2024 to 2027. Each year, we will allocate 0.25 percent of our defense budget to Ukraine and encourage all others to provide assistance as well," the leader said.
