Ukraine has an approved plan to deploy 500–1,000 interceptor drones per day against enemy UAVs. However, implementing this is not easy, according to the evening address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As President Zelenskyy stated, during the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal reported on the arrival of assistance from international partners.

The president noted: "We are ensuring a reliable flow of weapons to Ukrainian soldiers."

"I have instructed the preparation of a Technological meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, specifically focused on drones. There is an approved plan — to reach the deployment of 500–1,000 interceptors per day. This is extremely difficult. The goal is to achieve this daily within a set timeframe, and it is the personal responsibility of all involved officials," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Production of interceptor drones in Ukraine

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated, Ukraine plans to produce hundreds of thousands of interceptor drones this year, as the number of downed Russian Shahed drones will continue to rise.

According to him, production of interceptor drones has already begun. These drones vary in cost and capabilities. Overall, the production effort amounts to $6 billion.

Today, Zelenskyy announced that he has set a goal for drone manufacturers: Ukraine must have the capability to deploy at least 1,000 interceptors per day.
