Terrorist attack in Moscow region: US rejects Russian accusations against Ukraine
The United States is rejecting Russian claims of Ukraine's alleged involvement in the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. Similar disavowals extend to accusations leveled by the US and the United Kingdom, according to the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
"So first of all, it’s simply not true. We’ve made that clear that there is no evidence at all that Ukraine was involved in this, because Ukraine was not involved in this," he said.
Miller added that the accusations against Ukraine by Russian officials, including dictator Vladimir Putin, are "just propaganda to justify their continued aggression against Ukraine."
About the attack
On Friday evening, March 22, in the city of Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region, several armed individuals in camouflage carried out a shooting at the Crocus City Hall. According to Russian sources, over 100 people were killed in the attack.
The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the ISIS group. However, Russians are attempting to pin the terrorist act on Ukraine. Dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that the terrorists purportedly intended to flee to Ukraine, where a "window" had been prepared for them.
Prior to this, the head of the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service), Alexander Bortnikov, sid that the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine were behind the terrorist attack in the Moscow region.
However, according to Bloomberg, Putin's inner circle does not believe in his theory linking Ukraine to the Moscow region terrorist attack.
