Tavria front update: over 500 Russians eliminated with captives taken

Over the past day, December 20, Ukrainian soldiers killed 508 Russian terrorists in the Tavria direction. Almost a dozen Russians surrendered, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
During the day, the Russians:
- carried out 19 air strikes;
- conducted 53 combat engagements;
- made 1054 artillery attacks.
Avdiivka direction
Defense forces repelled 14 Russian attacks in Novokalynove, east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and another 22 attacks near Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
Maryinka direction
Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the enemy in the Maryinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka areas in the Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 10 attacks.
Shakhtarsk direction
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
Zaporizhzhia direction
The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 6 enemy attacks west of Verbove and south of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Achievements of Ukrainian soldiers
"In the Melitopol direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line," the press service writes.
The enemy's losses amounted to 508 Russians, and almost a dozen more surrendered. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 ammunition depots and 27 pieces of military equipment, including:
- 1 tank;
- 6 armored personnel carriers;
- 6 artillery systems;
- 13 vehicles;
- 1 unit of special equipment.
"Another 33 units of enemy equipment were damaged," the press service adds.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, December 20, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 1080 Russians. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 350,270 soldiers.
