Tavria front update: Equipment and over 400 Russians destroyed
Over the past day, Ukrainian troops eliminated over 400 more Russian occupiers in the Tavria direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 27 pieces of enemy military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces.
In total, the occupiers conducted 43 combat engagements and fired 547 artillery rounds in the Tavria direction.
The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka.
Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka and another 17 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the occupants in the areas of Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 13 attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three Russian attacks west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Enemy losses
The total losses of the Russian army amounted to 462 occupiers, and 3 more occupants surrendered.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 27 pieces of enemy military equipment, including:
- 5 tanks;
- 3 armored personnel carriers;
- 2 artillery systems;
- 14 UAVS;
- 3 vehicles.
In addition, two enemy ammunition depots were destroyed.
Situation at frontline
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled 13 enemy attacks in the Maryinka sector and are expanding their foothold in the Kherson direction. Rocket troops hit 2 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
In particular, according to the Institute of War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully counterattacked near Orlianka (southeast of Kupiansk) and liberated 1.7 square kilometers of territory. Positional battles continued near Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Staromayorsk.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Friday morning, January 12, amounted to 840 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 368,460. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 10 tanks, 11 artillery systems, and 16 armored personnel carriers.
