Ukrainian troops eliminated almost 300 more Russian occupants in the Tavria direction over the last day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 59 units of enemy military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.

In total, Russians conducted 13 air strikes in the Tavria direction, fought 28 combat engagements, and fired 1,035 artillery rounds. The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers.

Thus, the Defense Forces repelled 4 enemy attacks in the areas of Stepove and Avdiivka and another 14 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.

In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the Russian invaders in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where they repelled 4 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Urozhaine, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 5 enemy attacks near Robotyne and south of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Russian losses

The total enemy losses amounted to 288 Russians.

Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 59 pieces of enemy military equipment, including:

  • 1 tank;
  • 9 armored personnel carriers;
  • 4 artillery systems;
  • 3 ATGMS;
  • 30 UAVS;
  • 9 vehicles;
  • 3 units of special equipment.

The situation at the frontline

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, expanding the bridgehead. In addition, Ukrainian aviation struck 11 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, and 55 combat engagements took place over the past day.

Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Monday morning, January 1, amounted to 780 occupants. The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is approximately 360,010. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 6 tanks, 17 armored personnel carriers, and 18 enemy artillery systems.
