The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, expanding the bridgehead. In addition, Ukrainian aviation struck 11 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, and 55 combat engagements took place over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Expansion of the bridgehead
"In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand the bridgehead," the General Staff says in a statement.
In addition, despite significant losses, the Russians continue to try to drive our units out of their positions.
"Thus, over the past day, the enemy made 13 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces. At the same time, our soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line," the military adds.
Frontlines situation
Over the last day, 55 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy launched 13 missile and 127 air strikes, fired 181 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.
Air strikes were carried out in Ivanivka, Kharkiv region; Serebrianske forestry, Luhansk region; Hryhorivka, Riznykivka, Zvanivka, Spirne, Pivnichne, Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region; Robotyne, Novodanylivka, Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Chervonyi Mayak, Zmiivka, Virivka, Kherson region.
About 150 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
In the area of responsibility of the North Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Lyman direction, the occupants conducted assault operations near Makiivka, Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 10 enemy attacks near Bohdanivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 enemy attacks in Stepove and Avdiivka and another 14 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.
In the Maryinka direction, our defenders continue to hold back the invaders in Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where they repelled 4 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Urozhaine, Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian troops repelled five enemy attacks near Robotyne and south of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
