Tavria front update: 29 units of Russian equipment destroyed, while enemy attacks continue
Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 29 pieces of Russian equipment in rhe Tavria direction, while enemy continues infantry attacks (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)
Over the last day, January 16, in the Tavria direction, our troops destroyed 29 units of enemy equipment. The Russians continue infantry attacks with the support of armored vehicles and aviation, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
During the day, the enemy:
- carried out 23 air strikes;
- conducted 53 combat engagements;
- made 702 artillery attacks.
"Occupiers continue infantry attacks with the support of armored vehicles and aviation," says Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops.
Avdiivka direction
Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 20 enemy attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
Maryinka direction
Our soldiers continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 17 attacks were repelled.
Shakhtarsk direction
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
Zaporizhzhia direction
The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Achievements of Ukrainian military
The enemy's losses during the day amounted to 368 occupiers. Our soldiers also destroyed 29 pieces of Russian equipment, including:
- 5 tanks;
- 5 armored personnel carriers;
- 4 artillery systems;
- 8 UAVs;
- 5 vehicles;
- 2 units of special equipment.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, January 16, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 730 occupiers. Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost 372,820 troops.
Also, on the outskirts of Avdiivka, the Special Operations Forces practiced using mortars against a group of Russians who had moved to storm the positions at night. In particular, they showed a video of their work at the front.
