Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of the morning of Wednesday, January 17, amounted to 730 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 372,820. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 24 enemy vehicles, 14 armored personnel carriers, and 13 tanks, according to the Strategic Communications of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 17.01.24 are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 372,820 (+730) Russians were eliminated;
  • tanks - 6126 (+13) units;
  • armored personnel carriers - 11,372 (+14) units;
  • artillery systems - 8811 (+10) units;
  • MLRS - 964 (+3) units;
  • air defense systems - 653 units;
  • airplanes - 331 units;
  • helicopters - 324 units;
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 6884 (+7) units;
  • cruise missiles - 1817 (+1) units;
  • ships/boats - 23 units;
  • submarines - 1 unit;
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 11,755 (+24) units;
  • special equipment - 1,367 (+2) units.

Frontline situation

Ukrainian troops repelled 35 Russian attacks in the Avdiivka direction and are holding back the enemy in the Maryinka direction. Ukrainian missile forces hit 2 enemy ammunition depots.

In particular, according to the Institute of War Studies, Russian troops are afraid of a breakthrough in the Kherson region and are reinforcing their positions. Positional fighting continued on the left bank, including near Krynky and Pyshchanivka.
