The head of Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, will repeat Ankara’s proposal to hold peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. This will occur tomorrow, March 2, during a meeting of European leaders in London, reports Reuters.

According to a diplomatic source, Fidan will inform European leaders about Türkiye’s efforts to secure a "fair and lasting peace" in Ukraine, where war is currently ongoing. He will also reaffirm Ankara’s commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Fidan is expected to emphasize that Türkiye, which hosted direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in March 2022, is ready to take on this role again in the future. Additionally, he will stress that all parties must focus on long-term regional security and stability, as well as economic prosperity, during the talks.

Reuters stated that Türkiye, which has repeatedly called for a ceasefire since 2024, welcomed the US initiative to end the war. However, the initiative was disrupted by a public dispute between the presidents of Ukraine and the US in Washington on Friday.

Recently, Bloomberg reported that Türkiye could send its military to Ukraine. However, Ankara will not participate in any peacekeeping mission unless involved in all consultations and preparations for its formation.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkish companies will help rebuild Ukraine. The country has already submitted restoration projects for 2025, with tenders for these projects expected to be announced in April-May.
