Türkiye ready to host Ukraine-Russia peaceful negotiations, MFA states
Türkiye is ready to host peaceful negotiations between Ukraine and Russia when the conditions for such dialogue are met, states Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.
The official emphasizes that Türkiye has consistently supported Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, including Crimea as part of Ukraine.
The Minister adds that his country helped prevent the destabilization of the global food market through the Black Sea Grain initiative.
"We are ready to host peaceful negotiations again when the appropriate conditions are met. But let's be clear: this is not a task that can be solved individually. Unity and cooperation among countries advocating for conflict cessation will expedite the path to peace," noted Fidan.
Türkiye's involvement in the "grain deal"
Türkiye hosted negotiations between Ukraine and Russia regarding the "grain deal." Within the initiative, Ukraine could export grain and other agricultural products via the Black Sea.
However, in mid-July, Russia decided to exit the "grain deal." Representatives of the aggressor country complained that their conditions were supposedly not met.
Following this, Ukraine created its own grain corridor and began organizing exports via the Black Sea without any agreements with Russia.
