Türkiye and US sign nuclear agreement: Key details revealed

On September 25, Türkiye and the United States signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy, according to Türkiye’s Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.
The minister said the document was signed at the White House following a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
"After the meeting, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation in civil nuclear energy in the presence of the leaders, together with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. I hope that the work carried out under the agreement will bring mutual benefits to both countries in the near future," Bayraktar wrote.
During the White House meeting, President Trump said Erdoğan enjoys respect from both Kyiv and Moscow and could help bring peace to Ukraine. However, this would only happen if Türkiye stops purchasing Russian energy resources.
Trump had previously announced the meeting with Erdoğan on September 19. According to him, the leaders were expected to discuss trade between the countries and major deals involving aircraft.
