Syrskyi makes first statement as Commander-in-Chief of Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukraine faces new challenges on its agenda. Only continuous improvement of combat methods will allow Ukraine to achieve success, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to Syrskyi, Ukraine is currently facing new challenges, including:
- Clear and detailed planning of the actions of all military command and control bodies, associations, formations, and units, taking into account the needs of the frontline for the latest weapons coming from our allies;
- The fastest and most rational distribution of everything necessary for combat operations remains the main task of military logistics;
- Knowing all the needs of the frontline and being aware of the situation in each of its areas.
"It is the qualification of the personnel of military command and control bodies that is crucial for the development and successful implementation of ideas and plans," explains the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- The life and health of servicemen are the main values of the army. Maintaining a balance between performing combat missions and restoring units and subunits with intensified education and training of personnel remains as relevant as ever;
- The introduction of new technical solutions and scaling up of successful experiences, such as the use of unmanned systems and modern electronic warfare means, is one of the future vectors of building victory.
"Only changes and continuous improvement of means and methods of warfare will allow us to succeed on this path. And, of course, a reliable rear is one of the main components of overall success in the war," notes Syrskyi.
Appointment of Syrskyi as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Yesterday, on February 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his decision to dismiss Valerii Zaluzhnyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Instead, Oleksandr Syrskyi was appointed as the new Commander-in-Chief.
Rumors of Zaluzhnyi's resignation surfaced at the end of January 2024. However, even before that, there were reports of Zaluzhnyi's possible dismissal.
