Swedish prosecutor to announce verdict on Nord Stream explosion this week - Reuters
This week, the Swedish prosecutor investigating the explosions on the Nord Stream in 2022 is expected to announce their decision. The prosecutor may either close the case, charge someone, or request an arrest, reports Reuters.
Swedish investigators, examining the site within their economic zone, found traces of explosives. This suggests that the Nord Stream was deliberately sabotaged. Sweden has not yet named any suspects. The Danish police, also investigating the explosions, declined to comment.
Explosion on the Nord Stream
Explosions occurred on the Nord Stream in the Baltic Sea, within the Swedish and Danish economic zones. As a result of these explosions, both lines of Nord Stream - 1 and one line of Nord Stream - 2 were damaged, leading to the interruption of Russian gas supplies to Germany.
German investigators are confident that the Nord Stream was sabotaged by Russians.
