The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has updated the world rankings after the US Open.
Svitolina's and Kostyuk's progress
Elina Svitolina remains Ukraine's top player, climbing to 13th place in the world rankings (+2 positions). Notably, in New York, Svitolina failed to make it past the first round of a Grand Slam for the first time since 2018.
Ukraine's No. 2 Marta Kostyuk rose to 25th place (+3) after reaching the fourth round of the American major. Dayana Yastremska dropped two spots and now sits at No. 33. Yuliia Starodubtseva fell seven places and is currently ranked 75th in the world.
As before, Anhelina Kalinina remains outside the top 100, losing 17 positions to No. 152. Oleksandra Oliynykova climbed to 175th place (+27), while Daria Snigur dropped to 185th (-14).
This week also marked the WTA ranking debuts of two young Ukrainians: 14-year-old Polina Skliar is ranked No. 1031, and 15-year-old Polina Isakova is No. 1448.
