Stubb: Strikes on Wildberries are the only way to force Russia to negotiate

Ukraine’s long-range strikes on Wildberries could force Russia to come to the negotiating table. A majority of Russians now want the war to end following these events, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said at a press conference following the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Kyiv.
Strikes on Wildberries push Russia toward peace
Stubb shared his views on Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russian oil refineries and warehouses.
Stubb said that when Ukraine celebrated Independence Day last year, the situation for the country was more difficult from military, financial and economic perspectives. He believes Ukraine is now in a stronger position.
According to the Finnish president, to end the war, Ukraine needs both military and financial assistance to strengthen its ability to strike deep inside Russia, whether with drones or missiles, as this increases the cost of the war for Russia.
He noted that 65% of Russians now say they want the war to end, adding that the strikes on Wildberries warehouses had increased that figure by 10%.
"So if your question is: do I think it was a sensible military strategy from Ukraine, my answer is yes, it certainly is," the Finnish president said.
He added that this is the only way to ensure Russia’s participation in peace negotiations.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that, according to Stubb, Ukraine is currently in its strongest position since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. To maintain this momentum, continued support from its international partners will be crucial.
It was also reported that Finland’s president categorically rejected the idea that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had strengthened his position as a result of the war against Ukraine.
In addition, Stubb said in June that the war in Ukraine could continue for several more months. Russia does not plan to directly attack NATO.
