On Monday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders will discuss support for Ukraine, reports Reuters.

According to the agency, a few days after Donald Trump’s re-election as US president, Starmer will travel to France to meet with Macron. The leaders will discuss ways to support Ukraine, the continuation of the Russian invasion, and the terrible humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Reuters says that Trump has criticized the level of US support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia since 2022 and has promised to end the conflict, without explaining how he intends to do so.

In turn, both the UK and France have stated that it is crucial to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia to protect the European continent as a whole.

It is expected that next year the UK and the EU will begin negotiations on a post-Brexit security pact. This will cover areas such as defense and energy cooperation, as they aim to take on more responsibility for their security.

Just hours ago, it was reported that on November 7, Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed the war in Ukraine and the goal of peace on the European continent.

According to WP sources, during the conversation, Trump advised Putin not to escalate the war in Ukraine and reminded him of Washington’s significant presence in Europe.
