Spotify introduces game-changing features for music lovers

Spotify continues to surprise users with new features. Recently, the service added tools that completely change the way you listen to music, reports Lifehacker.
Hide songs you don't want to hear
Sometimes Spotify plays songs you've heard too many times or simply don't want to listen to at the moment. Now you can quickly hide them from a playlist: in the Now Playing mode, tap the three dots and select "Hide in this playlist."
The song will no longer play in that playlist, and a red minus will appear next to it. If you change your mind, tap "Show in this playlist."

Postpone a song for 30 days
Although you cannot block a track completely, Spotify allows you to postpone it for one month. Open the mini-player, tap the X next to the song, and select "Do not suggest this song anywhere for 30 days." The track will gradually be removed from algorithmic playlists, and you won’t hear it for a month.

Advanced controls for Premium
Spotify Premium subscribers get enhanced playback controls. The song queue now has buttons for shuffle, repeat, and a sleep timer.
On the free plan, Smart Shuffle and Autoplay automatically add songs to the queue. Premium users can disable both features via Settings & Privacy, then Playback.

Customize playlists to your taste
Spotify has simplified playlist management. The Add, Edit, and Sort buttons allow you to create new lists quickly. The Add feature shows recommended tracks and updates recommendations as you add songs.
In some regions, you can create playlists directly from Liked Songs, filter by genre or mood, and even add cover images.

Smart filters for your music library
Premium users can use smart filters in the Your Library tab to sort music by mood, genre, or activity. Filters work not only for songs but also for podcasts and audiobooks.
The feature is gradually rolling out in various countries.

Interact with your Spotify DJ
Spotify has a built-in AI DJ that selects tracks. This year, it became possible to talk to the DJ and request songs by voice. The feature is currently available in 60 countries.
In the Spotify search tab, find "DJ," tap play, and the AI DJ will start a mix of music and requests. Then press and hold the DJ button on the right to speak and send your music requests.

Fix your Discover Weekly playlist
If you're not satisfied with your Discover Weekly selection, Premium users can update it. Genre buttons appear at the top of the playlist. Tapping one creates a new playlist with 30 songs of the selected genre.
