Spain to provide new aid package with air defense equipment to Ukraine - Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that he held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, during which they discussed a new aid package for Ukraine.
"We discussed a new defense support package that includes additional air defense, artillery and anti-drone systems. We are preparing to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU under the Spanish presidency. Thank you for supporting our aspirations," the President of Ukraine wrote.
Zelenskyy and Sanchez also discussed the provision of energy equipment to Ukraine ahead of the winter period, as well as the work and protection of the grain corridor.
The leader of Ukraine thanked Sanchez and the entire Spanish society for their support and strong condemnation of Russian aggression.
Sanchez, in turn, welcomed Zelenskyy to Granada.
"We share a common goal of ensuring the security and stability of our common European home," he said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that Ukraine has Spain's support on its path to the EU, saying "We will remain united, unshakable, until we achieve a just and lasting peace."

In addition, according to local media reports, Sanchez announced his intention to help protect Ukraine's critical infrastructure, to train the Ukrainian military, and provide demining equipment.
Zelenskyy's visit to Spain
The President of Ukraine is on an official visit to Spain today, October 5. This marks his first trip to the country since the full-scale war against Ukraine began.
A summit of the European Political Community is taking place in Granada, which Zelenskyy is attending. The President will also hold bilateral meetings, during which discussions will focus on bolstering Ukraine's anti-aircraft defense capabilities.
Particular attention will be given to the Black Sea region and collaborative efforts towards global food security and the protection of maritime freedom.
