SpaceX will launch about five unmanned Starships to Mars in two years - Elon Musk
SpaceX plans to launch about five unmanned Starships to Mars. This will happen within two years, reports Reuters.
“If those all land safely, then crewed missions are possible in four years,” Elon Musk wrote on his social network X (formerly Twitter).
At the same time, he noted that in case of any problems, manned missions to Mars (flights with the participation of pilots) will be postponed for another two years. But be that as it may, the company will increase the number of ships that will go to Mars.
“No matter what happens with landing success, SpaceX will increase the number of spaceships traveling to Mars exponentially with every transit opportunity,” he summarized.
Reuters recalled that Musk mentioned the launch of unmanned Starship spacecraft to Mars earlier this month. On social network X, he said that the first ships would be launched in 2 years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens.
