Solar storm alert: When it will strike and who should take precautions

At the beginning of September, the Sun remains extremely active, and Ukrainians will continue to feel its impact for several more days. Magnetic storms will keep affecting the Earth, so it is important to take care of your well-being and closely follow forecasts. What disturbances are expected from September 5 to 8, who is most at risk of feeling their effects, and how to help the body?
Forecast of magnetic storms
September 5-6. Scientists predict repeated disturbances of the magnetosphere. The level of storms may reach Kp 6, which is a medium level of danger. During this time, interruptions in mobile communications, short-term GPS failures, and power network issues may occur.
September 7: Solar activity will slightly decrease. But its residual influence will still be felt. The day will not be completely calm.
September 8: A relatively quiet period is expected; the magnetosphere will stabilize. However, the risk of minor fluctuations remains.
How storms affect the body
According to many studies, those who react the most to solar activity are:
- People with chronic cardiovascular diseases
- Hypertensive patients
- Weather-sensitive individuals
- Those who suffer from insomnia or sleep disorders
During these days, the following symptoms may occur:
- Headache and dizziness
- Sudden changes in blood pressure
- Irritability, anxiety, worsening of mood
- Problems with concentration
- Weakness, fatigue, and drowsiness
- Exacerbation of chronic diseases
How to ease the condition during magnetic storms
Doctors advise following simple rules that will help the body adapt more easily:
- Drink enough water
- Limit coffee, alcohol, and heavy food
- Avoid overexertion and excessive stress
- Spend more time outdoors
- Try to sleep 7-9 hours
- Keep medicine on hand if you have heart or blood pressure problems
