Slovenian PM warns against making hasty decisions on strikes deeper into Russia
Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob has warned against making hasty decisions regarding the use of long-range Western weapons on Russian territory. The politician noted that it is premature to close the discussion on this issue, according to Tagesschau.
"To say in advance that there are issues that are not to be discussed is usually not the best tactic. This is a complex issue, but I believe that at this stage, all options need to be discussed, and then the one that best fits the current situation should be chosen," he stated.
So far, this issue has been delayed, particularly by Germany and the United States.
Restrictions on the Use of Weapons
Ukraine is urging its partners to allow the use of long-range weapons provided by the US and the UK for strikes on military targets within Russia. This involves Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles that Ukraine has received from these countries.
The matter is actively being discussed among nations, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calling for a quicker resolution.
Western media have reported that the US and UK have allegedly approved such use, though no official announcement has been made. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has not yet used Western long-range weapons on Russian territory.
Meanwhile, The Times reported that Zelenskyy would finish his visit to the US without receiving permission to use Western missiles for strikes against Russia.
