Skoda unveils the second-generation Kodiaq crossover
Skoda has officially unveiled the second generation of the Kodiaq crossover. The new model is longer than its predecessor and is available in both 5- and 7-seat configurations, according to the Skoda press service.
The flagship crossover of the Czech brand has become larger and more spacious compared to its predecessor. The length of the new Kodiaq is 4758 mm, and the wheelbase is 2791 mm. This makes it 61 mm longer than the first generation and 110 mm longer than the electric Skoda Enyaq.
The interior of the new Kodiaq features a modern minimalist design. The dashboard is equipped with a 12.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, as well as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The cargo space has increased by 75 liters and now offers an impressive 920 liters in the 5-seat model or 340-845 liters in the 7-seat version.
The new Kodiaq is built on an enhanced version of the MQB architecture, retaining both petrol and diesel powertrains. The highlight of the model lineup is the plug-in hybrid, equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine and a single electric motor, delivering a combined power output of 204 horsepower.
The 25.7 kWh battery provides an electric-only range of 100 kilometers and supports fast DC charging at up to 50 kW. Power is exclusively transmitted to the front axle through a 6-speed DSG automatic transmission. Vehicles with 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines, ranging from 150 to 204 horsepower, can be configured with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Regardless of the engine choice, all vehicles come equipped with a DSG automated transmission.
In September, Ukrainians purchased 5,700 new cars. Toyota maintained its leadership in the market in September, with 960 vehicles sold. Volkswagen secured the second position with 653 cars. Skoda, on the other hand, took the fourth place in terms of new car sales last month.
