Many people believe that regular visits to a beautician will be enough to have healthy and well-toned skin. The beautician spoke about the importance of professional home care.

RBC-Ukraine shares tips on how to take care of your skin at home properly.

Why home skin care is important

According to Ukrainian beautician Daria Tishchenko, professional procedures at a specialist are deep and specialized skin care. They intensively work on a specific problem and provide quick results.

However, it is very difficult without proper home care, as it is key to maintaining and prolonging the results of these procedures. Using quality products at home helps to maintain skin balance, protect it from daily stressors, and prevent new problems.

Therefore, using the right professional home care products is as important as visiting a beautician, as they complement each other.

How to take care of your skin

Wash your face twice a day

You should wash your face in the morning when you get up and in the evening before going to bed. Use lukewarm water and a facial cleanser that is suitable for your skin type.

Afterward, apply a face toner and moisturizer. Don't forget about the skin on your neck.

Dry your skin gently with a towel - this applies to both face and body. Even better, leave your skin slightly damp. This way, your skin can absorb excess moisture and restore hydration.

Apply moisturizer or lotion while your skin is still damp

Use moisturizers for your face and lotions or body butter. Change the type of moisturizer or lotion you use depending on the season. Use a richer cream in the winter and a lighter cream in the summer.

Also, apply a moisturizer with SPF to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays.

Do peeling

This will help to exfoliate dead skin cells and make your skin silky smooth. Be sure to use a gentler exfoliator for your face than for the rest of your body.

Remember that the skin of the face is much more delicate than the skin of the hands and feet. Therefore, choose exfoliating scrubs carefully. The larger the grains, the more abrasive the scrub will be.

Wear makeup that suits your skin type and remove it before bed to prevent breakouts. Clean your makeup brushes regularly to prevent the build-up and spread of acne-causing bacteria.
