The body of the second victim in Kharkiv was found under the rubble at the site of the shelling of a high-rise building on Oct. 30. Six floors of the building collapsed into one, according to Dmytro Chubenko, a spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Rescuers are currently unblocking the body of a 15-year-old boy who lived on the first floor with his grandparents.

“They can see the body, but there are very heavy plates on it. Most likely, he died because there are no signs of life,” Chubenko added.

Rescue operations will continue until the rubble is completely dismantled, down to the last brick, and it becomes certain that there is no one there.

“There are also several apartments that collapsed - they were rented, and the neighbors have no accurate information about how many people lived there, no contacts of these people, no understanding of whether they were in the apartments at the time of the hit. Therefore, they will completely dismantle the rubble. Six floors have actually merged into one, so it is a very complicated operation from the technical side,” Chubenko said.

Besides, this is a panel house, so several panels of walls and floor are now hanging in the air above the place where rescuers are working.

“The latest data is a 12-year-old boy has been unblocked, and 35 people are injured. Yesterday, the boy showed small signs of life, ambulance staff resuscitated him for 40 minutes, but failed to bring him back to life,” the spokesperson added.

Shelling of Kharkiv

On the evening of Oct. 30, an explosion rocked Kharkiv. Russia attacked Kharkiv once again, a bomb hit a high-rise building. Russians used a FAB-500 for the attack.

The destruction of the high-rise building was so severe that there was a threat of collapse of some structures. The entire entrance was almost completely destroyed.

Initially, seven people were reported injured, including a 12-year-old child. Later, the number of victims continued to grow. As of 1 a.m., there were already 29 victims in Kharkiv.

Currently, rescuers are still searching for people under the rubble.
