Late in the evening on October 30, Russia once again attacked the city, with a bomb hitting a multi-story building, informs Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

"An explosion was heard in Kharkiv, and the relevant services have been dispatched to investigate the site of the KAB (guided aerial bomb - Ed.) hit," the message reads at 10:51 PM Kyiv time.

A few minutes later, Terekhov clarified that, according to preliminary information, a guided aerial bomb hit a multi-story building. There are casualties as a result of the attack.

According to Syniehubov, the strike occurred in the Saltivskyi district.

"There is a hit on the fourth floor of the apartment building. Preliminary reports indicate there are victims, including those under the rubble. Emergency services are continuing search," he wrote.

Later, Oleh Syniehubov informed that almost the entire entrance of the building was destroyed due to the Russian strike, and civilian vehicles were damaged. A fire broke out at the site of the explosion.

"Rescuers are conducting search operations and extinguishing the fire," he added.

As of 11:20 PM, Ihor Terekhov informs that the floors from the 6th to the 1st of a 9-story building are destroyed. There is information about 12 injured, but there may still be people under the rubble.

Later, Mayor Terekhov informed that there were people blocked on the upper floors of the entrance. Efforts are underway to rescue them.

"Ten injured have been examined. Two are in serious condition – an 11-year-old child and a 22-year-old man," he added.

“As of now, we have information that three people may be trapped under the rubble. There are also reports of 15 injured from the Russian strike on the apartment building,” Terekhov stated.

Oleh Syniehubov reported that the number of injured has risen to 29. Tragically, one child has died.

"As of now, there are 30 injured, including one child trapped under the rubble and one child died. Words fail me," wrote Terekhov.

Syniehubov specified that the boy killed by Russia was 11 years old. Rescuers recovered him from the rubble with severe head injuries and fractures.

"Medics performed resuscitation efforts for over half an hour. Unfortunately, they were unable to save the child. My condolences to the family," he added.

As of this time, 34 people have been injured.

"One child has died. Rescuers have recovered fragments of bodies from the rubble. An examination will be conducted to establish the identity. Thus, the death toll has increased to two people," Syniehubov informed.

Earlier, on the evening of October 28, the Russian forces also carried out an airstrike on Kharkiv. The attack damaged the historic Derzhprom building, a medical facility, and other administrative structures. Syniehubov shared photos of the strike's aftermath.
