Situation is improving: Ukraine manages to conduct rotations of troops
Ukrainian forces are successfully conducting troop rotations and increasing the number of reserves, while Russia faces difficulties on the front lines, according to Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to Ukraine's President's Office.
In a comment to The Wall Street Journal, Podolyak said that Ukraine has managed to implement some troop rotations at the front and increase the number of reservists, indicating an improvement in the situation.
Ukrainian officials and military analysts also told the WSJ that Russia is struggling on the front lines. The occupying forces have not achieved significant breakthroughs despite massive efforts.
Podolyak also discussed Ukraine's victory plan, describing it as a detailed strategy that encompasses military, economic, political, and diplomatic steps necessary to compel Russia to end the war.
Among the proposed measures is a request for additional long-range missiles, such as ATACMS and Storm Shadow, and permission to target military objectives deep within Russia. Podolyak said that this could change the calculations of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin by increasing internal pressure and weakening Russian forces.
The advisor emphasized that without additional support, the war could drag on for years, ultimately undermining the global standing of Western countries.
He also said that coercing Ukraine to negotiate from a position of weakness will not end the conflict but will encourage Putin to continue his main goal of total control over Ukraine.
Frontline situation
Russia has continued its offensive for months. Occupying forces are pressing on several fronts, including the areas of Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Kurakhove, Vuhledar, and Kupiansk.
Over the past day, there have been approximately 160 combat engagements along the front, with the Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv directions remaining the most active.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are continuing operations in the Kursk region, where Russian troops are attempting to push back Ukrainian forces. Recently, it was reported that the occupiers executed nine Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region.
